Certified Coatings Inspection

Keville Enterprises, Inc.’s certified coatings inspectors are highly qualified, with average experience of over 10 years each. Our coatings inspectors hold NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certifications up to NACE Certificated, as well as other certifications, training, and course work credentials. Coatings inspection services provided by our inspectors include but are not limited to: daily in-process and final acceptance inspections for all surface preparation and paint coating applications; verifying environmental conditions such as relative humidity, dew point, and surface temperatures; verifying dry film thickness between coats and final system dry film thickness using elcometers and digital thickness gages; verifying the calibration of all measuring and test equipment; performing receipt inspection on abrasive blast grit and paint materials; witnessing the mixing paint systems in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications; reviewing material certifications and certificates of compliance; documentation and filing of inspections and test results; review of lead paint disposal areas; and inspecting containments for proper seal, cross, and down draft. Our inspectors have performed coatings inspections on bridges, highway structures, pipelines, storage tanks, industrial/process facilities, ships, barges, and many other types of structures. Our inspectors also have experience inspecting projects that include de-leading and repainting work. As with our certified welding inspectors, several of our coatings inspectors also possess certifications, training, and experience in other inspection disciplines such as welding inspection, high strength bolting inspection, concrete inspection, general construction inspection, and waterproofing inspection.
