Constructability Review

KEI performs Constructability Reviews to analyze and assess the feasibility of construction. In performing these reviews for each contract, KEI reviews and assesses: physical limitations of the work site; laydown and storage area requirements; availability of job site utilities; interfaces with the public domain, other construction contracts, and other entities; limitations and restrictions on hours of operation; seasonal influences on the work; factors affecting productivity rates; physical limitations of construction equipment; physical limitations and “handle-ability” of construction components; the owner’s operational requirements; interfaces and coordination with utility companies; availability of labor and materials; long lead time items; site safety and security; safety and security of the general public; traffic impacts; aesthetics and safety aspects of barriers and buffers; noise mitigation; job site cleanliness and maintenance requirements; construction cost and schedule; pay item structures and quantities; Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Testing requirements; and the use of sole source or proprietary items.

KEI monitors the items and issues identified in the Constructability Review throughout the design process to ensure that all identified items are addressed prior to design completion.
